Composites in combination with conventional materials InfraCore® technology has been specially developed for heavy-load-bearing composite structures. The application possiblities of InfraCore® are many: composite bridges, composite traffic bridges (60 tons traffic) and composite lock gates. At the moment, quite a large number of composite (traffic) bridges have been built in The Netherlands. InfraCore® has proven to be a important material for construction purposes. Compared to concrete and steel, InfraCore® is lightweight, sustainable and maintenance-free. InfraCore® therefore perfectly fits in strategies of sustainable procurement.The InfraCore® technology is very appropriate for combinations with steel or concrete, for example composite decks on a frame of steel. Because of the relatively small mass of the composite decks, huge material savings can be realised in the construction and foundation when compared to concrete decks.
