The municipality of Tholen has bought a sustainable  InfraCore® bridge. The park bridge will be placed in the Kotterstraat and is replacing a weather-beaten wooden one.

 

The municipality of Tholen has chosen for an InfraCore® composite bridge because of sustainability reasons, no maintenance costs, a longer life cycle and a higher value at the end of this cycle. In addition: graffiti is easy to remove and the bridges are so light that they scarcely need a foundation.
InfraCore®  bridges have a far better carbon foot print than comparable bridges of steel and concrete and they thereby fit well in the ambitious carbon related goals of Tholen. On this moment a LCA is been carried out  on InfraCore® bridges in comparison steel and concrete ones. This LCA is financed by  SenterNovem, DSM Resins and FiberCore Europe. The report on the LCA will be published in May and the first results are more than promising.
